Not showing as an SME?

Your company may be small enough to get the higher training subsidy and still not be on record as an SME. Fixing it takes about five minutes. Do it before you send staff for training.

the short version

  • For staff training, your SME status is worked out from government data. You don’t normally apply for it.
  • If that data is wrong or missing, your company is funded as a non-SME and pays more per course.
  • You can ask for a review online. A correction only counts for claims made after it is approved. Courses already paid for stay as they are.
  • The status can refresh at the end of each calendar year, so look again every January.
